Although this was a paid assignment, it was truly a passion project for me. As a BMX rider myself, filming Edwin Delarosa and Augie Simoncini was an incredibly rewarding experience. The video was captured using one of the first true 360 cameras, constructed from seven GoPros mounted in a custom 3D-printed rig (shown below).

 

   Syncing footage from seven cameras was complex, and stitching them together proved to be a significant technical challenge. This project was at the forefront of 360-degree filming technology. Additionally, I had to learn how to composite in 360, including the task of removing the tripod from the final footage and adding the logo.  Definitely watch it in a VR headset or even just on your phone with the Youtube app, for the best experience.
